KUALA LUMPUR – Two 18-year-olds have been arrested as part of an investigation into a viral video involving a secondary school student who was dissatisfied with the History paper in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
This came after police received a report from a 53-year-old teacher at 10.53am yesterday, said Hulu Selangor district police chief Suffian Abdullah.
“Police previously received a report from a woman teacher regarding a viral video on TikTok and Facebook in this district, showing the suspect expressing dissatisfaction with the History SPM paper.
“The suspect also reportedly uttered abusive words against question setters of the said paper and insulted Singapore,” he said in a statement today.
Suffian added that the Hulu Selangor’s Criminal Investigation Department raided a house in Batang Kali and arrested the two teenagers.
Police also seized a mobile phone believed to be used by the suspect.
“The two tested negative for drugs and did not have any criminal records.”
Suffian said the case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1995 and Section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998. – The Vibes, February 25, 2023
